4 Weeks Pregnant: Symptoms

What to Expect

If you’re 4 weeks pregnant, you may not even know it yet, or you might have just found out. However, there are already some symptoms that are clear signs of your pregnancy. Do you want to know what symptoms you can expect so early in your pregnancy? We’ll tell you in this blog!

Typical Pregnancy Symptoms at 4 Weeks

When you’ve only been pregnant for such a short time, others won’t notice anything different about you. However, you may already sense that something is happening. Typical symptoms that can occur in the 4th week of pregnancy include:

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Tender breasts
  • Increased urination and/or
  • Abdominal pain

These symptoms can be signals that you’re pregnant. If you don’t notice anything at all even though you’ve just taken a positive test, don’t worry, not everyone always experiences one or more of these symptoms.

Late period?

Depending on how regularly your menstrual cycle normally occurs, you may notice that you’re late in the 4th week of your pregnancy. If you’re always very punctual with your periods, you’ll notice it right away. However, many people are not so punctual and may not even realize they’re late in the first few days.

No Belly, but Restless Bowels

You probably wouldn’t expect a noticeable belly as a symptom in such an early pregnancy. However, when you’re 4 weeks pregnant, you may notice that your pants are fitting a bit tighter. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you’ve been pregnant for much longer than you think or that you’re expecting a giant baby. Your pregnancy can affect your digestive system, causing bloating and that belly.

Your Partner Might Notice…

Externally, there’s likely nothing different about you yet, but your partner may notice a change. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the most enjoyable aspect of pregnancy; when you’re just 4 weeks pregnant, you may experience mood swings, fatigue, and/or headaches. Your hormones are very active right now, and your body is preparing intensely for what’s to come. So, it’s logical that your body might be a bit off balance, and you might not be the cheeriest person right now. Fortunately, there’s a perfectly good explanation for your behavior, and it’s also temporary. If you’re already experiencing a worse mood due to how you’re feeling right now, it will likely pass in about two months. And that’s good news for your partner too 😉

4 Weeks Pregnant and Panicking?

Even if you wanted to get pregnant, you might suddenly panic when you see a positive test result. Do you feel that way? Don’t worry; you’re not alone. It doesn’t reflect how much you want to become pregnant or how welcome your baby is. Suddenly finding yourself in a different situation can be quite confronting. Add any pregnancy symptoms and hormonal imbalances that can throw you off balance, and it’s not strange to be startled. Usually, the panic subsides quickly, but if you continue to worry or fret, call us. It’s always a good idea to make an appointment after a positive pregnancy test, but if your feelings of panic persist, it’s essential to come in soon. We’re here to help and provide you with the confidence you need for the times ahead.
